What is Project AWARE?

Advancing Wellness And Resiliency in Education

Project AWARE grants promote youth mental health awareness among schools and the community, to improve connections in services for school-age youth.

Project AWARE is designed to help make aware of federal state and local agencies to…

  • Increase awareness of mental health issues among school-age youth.

  • Train educators and other youth-serving adults to detect and respond to mental health issues.

  •  Connect children, youth and families who may experience behavioral health issues to appropriate services.

Through Project AWARE, an additional licensed counselor has been added to the staff at Davis Public Schools. The AWARE counselor will provide support services for students and will help coordinate educational opportunities for parents and the community along with the support of our community grant manager.

Meet Our Counselors

In addition to the AWARE counselor, each school in the district is staffed with highly qualified school counselors. School counselors are vital members of every child’s education team. They educate students in the area of academic achievement, college and career readiness and social/emotional development, helping students become productive members of society and well adjusted adults. We are blessed to have these counselors in our schools.
